The 7th grade Lady Bulldogs won exciting game against Columbus Northside Tuesday night at home.
The Spartans and Bulldogs were tied 19-19 with less than a minute to go when Kaylin Hinners hit a jump shot to put the Bulldogs ahead 21-19. After a great defensive play by Elena Kuisel, the Bulldogs held on for the victory 21-19.
Defensively, Billie Puente and Kaylin Hinners had a standout performance pressuring the ball all night for the Bulldogs, according to coach Chris Weiler. On the offensive end, Batesville was led in scoring by Hinners with 8 points; Kuisel 6 points; Renee Lecher 2 points; Rachel Lamping 2 points; and Kaylie Raver 1 point.
The girls move to 4-1 on the season.
