The Batesville Bulldog junior varsity softball team defeated Franklin County Tuesday evening by a score of 10-2. Patience at the plate and aggressiveness on the base baths propelled the Bulldogs to victory.
Batesville jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first inning and never looked back. They tallied six runs in the second and pushed another across in the third.
The Lady Bulldogs collected four hits on the evening. Abby Westerfeld, Gwen Martin, Hannah Nunlist, and McKenzie Laker all had one a piece. Westerfeld led the Bulldogs with three runs scored.
Paige Oldham was solid on the mound throwing all five innings for Bulldogs while punching out five Lady Wildcat hitters.
