The Batesville High School varsity basketball team opened the season with a convincing 70-47 victory at Jac-Cen-Del.
The Bulldogs scored 17 first quarter points to take a three point lead at the first break. The Eagles kept the game relatively close in the second quarter and trailed 31-22 at halftime. The difference in the game was the third quarter. Batesville outscored the Eagles 21-8 and extended the margin to a comfortable 22 points.
Austin Siefert scored a game-high 19 points, while Trey Heidlage and Sam Voegele scored 16 and 12 points, respectively. Robert Raver led the team with seven rebounds, while Tyler Myers and Voegele had six each.
