The Batesville High School varsity basketball team suffered a 58-51 loss on the road to Morristown.

The Bulldogs fell behind early 10-2 and scored nine unanswered points to take an 11-10 lead. The first quarter ended with the Bulldogs down 19-17.

The second quarter was much of the same with the two teams trading short runs of success.The halftime score favored the Yellow Jackets 34-30.

Neither team could get much offense going in the third quarter, but it was Morristown with the most success. The hosts entered the fourth quarter with a 44-35 advantage.

The Bulldogs outscored the Yellow Jackets 16-14 in the fourth quarter, but could not make up the deficit.

Sam Voegele finished with a team-high 19 points and eight rebounds. Thomas Raver added 10 points and Cole Werner finished with nine. Werner led the team with four steals, while RJ Powell had seven assists.
