The Bulldogs grabbed an early lead on its way to a 7-4 victory over Greensburg on Friday.
Batesville scored on a double by Drew Kiefer and a groundout by Joe Bohman in the first inning.
With Batesville up 5-1 in the sixth inning, Greensburg scored three runs , but the Bulldogs still managed to pull out the victory. The Bulldogs scored two more in the bottom of the sixth inning.
Bohman was the winning pitcher for Batesville. He allowed seven hits and four runs over six innings, striking out four and walking zero. Sam Voegele threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen. Voegele recorded the last three outs to earn the save for Batesville.
The Bulldogs hit two home runs on the day. Quinn Werner and Voegele went yard in the fifth inning. Both were solo shots.
Bohman went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead the Bulldogs in hits. The Bulldogs were sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Trey Heidlage had the most chances in the field with eight.
