The Batesville Bulldogs junior varsity baseball team won in convincing fashion as they beat the Greensburg Pirates by a score of 24-1.
The Bulldogs were led both offensively and defensively by sophomore Clay Grunkemeyer who threw just 32 pitches in 3 innings of work not allowing an earned run. He also drove in 5 runs. The Bulldogs were also led by Lleyton Ratcliffe who went 3-3 with a walk and drove in three. Brayden Linkel, Seth Gausman, Drew Kiefer, Riley Zink, and Nate Eckstein each added a pair of RBI’s a piece.
All in all the Bulldogs accumulated 14 hits, walked 7 times, and only struck out twice.
As mentioned before Grunkemeyer got his second win of the season, he is now 2-0 with a 0.00 ERA. Drew Kiefer saw his first action of the season on the mound pitching two scoreless innings of relief and struck out three of the nine batters he faced.
