The Lady Bulldogs junior varsity basketball team opened the season with a convincing 37-7 victory over the visiting Hauser Lady Jets.
Batesville held Hauser scoreless in the first quarter and jumped out to an 8-0 lead. The lead grew to 15-4 by halftime.
Ten different players scored for coach Clint Pride’s squad. Breanna Wells led the way with nine points, while Kerigan Haskamp finished with eight. Wells also led the team in rebounds and assists with five and four, respectively. Carley Pride helped set the tone defensively with five steals.
