Tori Harpring and Emma Weiler represented the Batesville High School golf team at the Lapel Golf Regional on Saturday with hopes of advancing to the IHSAA State Finals.
The top five individuals from non-advancing teams earn a berth in the state finals to be played at Prairie View Golf Course this Friday and Saturday.
Weiler carded an 18-hole score of 75, but need a 19th hole to qualify for the state finals. The BHS freshman birdied No. 18 in the playoff to edge Chatard’s Maggie Schaffer for the final spot. Weiler shot a 36 on the front nine and a 39 on the back .
Harpring had a solid day, but did not advance. The Batesville sophomore had a 51 on the front nine and followed up with a 49 on the back for an 18-hole total of 100.
North Decatur’s Sydney Parmer will join Weiler in the Friday field. She finished with a 73.
Columbus North won the team title at the regional with a score of 313. Noblesville was second with a 324 followed by Lapel with 325.
