Two Batesville High School alumni will get a chance to play in the College World Series.

Bryan Hoeing and Zach Britton are members of the University of Louisville baseball team that recently won the NCAA Super Regional at home against East Carolina. The Cardinals defeated East Carolina 14-1 in game one and followed up one day later to win 12-0 to advance in the tournament.

The Cardinals are now 49-16 on the season entering the College World Series.

Hoeing is on the pitching staff at Louisville. During his senior season, Hoeing has both started and pitched in relief. He has a 2.70 ERA and 3-3 record. He has 68 strikeouts in 20 appearances, which is fourth on the team.

Britton has played in 53 games with a .285 batting average. He has 37 hits in 130 appearances at the plate. His five home runs are fourth best on the team.

The team is expected to play June 15 in Omaha, Nebraska, according to the team’s web site.
