The Batesville High School boys varsity soccer team suffered a 2-0 loss to the host Lawrenceburg Tigers.As expected, the Tigers came in aggressive and the Bulldogs worked on maintaining a good defensive shape and keeping condense to deny forward movement. Minutes into the game, Batesville started to calm down from the pressure and connect some passes, according to coach Kyle Hunteman.The Tigers threw in a very long cross into the box from the sideline which was headed into the goal by an unmarked runner with just 1:38 remaining in the first half. The second half continued and the Bulldogs struggled to answer back with a goal. With 10:14 left in the game, the Tigers switched the ball from the midfield out wide right and the Batesville defense challenged, but was unsuccessful in a clearance. The opponent crossed a low ball in front of goal which was crashed into the back net.The Bulldogs ended with a record of 9 wins and 5 losses.
