Bulldogs News · Bulldogs knock off South Dearborn 20-18 in 9th football


The freshman Bulldogs beat South Dearborn by a score of 20-18.

The Knights scored first to go up 6-0 and that was the score at halftime.

In the second half, Batesville scored on a 5 yard touchdown run by Travis Lecher and took the lead on the PAT kick by Braiden Foster.

The Knights answered to take a 12-7 lead.

The Bulldogs followed with next two touchdowns on a Will Meer 2 yard run and a Lecher 25 yard run.  Foster’s PAT kick made the score 20-12 with a little over two minutes left.

The Knights later score with 8 seconds left. Needing a 2 point conversion to tie, their run was stopped by Will Meer and Jordan Thornsberry to preserve the win for Batesville.

Defensively, the Bulldogs were led by Will Meer, Jy’lil Chappell, Vonley Hund, Chase Hamilton, Jordan Thornsberry and Luke Wilson.  Jacob Meer also had an interception that led to the final score.
