The Batesville Bulldogs defeated the visiting Franklin County Wildcats by a score of 29-22.
The Bulldogs got off to a good start with a touchdown in the first quarter. Trey Heidlage scored on a 1 yard run at the 7:38 mark. Nate Slavin kicked the extra point to put the team up 7-0.
Heidlage carried the ball for a 53-yard touchdown and Slavin added an extra point to put the Bulldogs on top 14-0 in the second quarter.
Franklin County scored three times in the second quarter to counter two by the Bulldogs and took a 22-21 lead in at halftime. The second BHS score of the quarter was a 74 yard run by Heidlage.
After a scoreless third quarter, the Bulldogs scored the go-ahead touchdown with :24 remaining in the game. Heidlage hit Austin Siefert for a 25 yard touchdown. Christian Prickel scored the two point conversion to make it 29-22.
The Bulldogs finished with 532 yards of total offense – 272 passing and 260 rushing.
