The varsity football team defeated Greensburg last Friday, 32-22 to improve their record to 4-3 on the season.
The Bulldogs were lead by offensvily by Trey Heidlage. Heidlage accounted for 305 total yards for the Bulldogs as he threw for 169 yards and rushed for 136. He threw three touchdown passes to three different targets as well as ran in one score.
Christian Prickel scored the first touchdown as he found his way into the endzone to give the Bulldogs their first lead of the game, 10-7 right before halftime. Prickel led the passing attack with 7 receptions for 61 yards and rushed for an additional 36 yards. In the third quarter, Heidlage ran in a 37 yard run to regain the lead for the Bulldogs 17-15. The second touchdown pass went to Austin Siefert on 31 yard completion to extend the Bulldogs lead to 24-15. Jake Cruse added the third touchdown pass and final touchdown of the evening with his 30 yard grab, which gave the Bulldogs their biggest lead of the game at 32-15.
Defensively, the Bulldogs were lead by Dennis Sweezey, Adam Bedel, and Tyler Myers, according to coach Evan Ulery. Sweezey led the team with tackles at 12 total tackles with 7 solo and 1.5 tackles for loss. Bedel added 6 solo tackles and 10 total tackles along with a sack. Myers contributed with 3 total tackles and 1.5 tackles for loss along with a fumble recovery and an interception.
