Meet Recap

The Batesville Bulldogs placed second at the Greensburg Invitational.

Although Batesville had all seven runners placing 21st or better, the East Central Trojans’ top five ran just a little bit fast than us today and took first place as a team with the Bulldogs capturing 2nd. (34-48). Greensburg came in 3rd with 103.

Batesville traveled to Greensburg Thursday night to compete in their 12 school invitational and to close our their regular season. The boys started the night as Batesville’s Joshua Myers took the first place honors just seconds ahead of East Central’s Kameron Geisen as Joshua crossed the finish line at 17:07. Adam Moster was the 2nd Bulldog to cross the line taking 5th place (17:25). He was followed by Dillon Murray in 11th (18:05) with Christopher Laymon and Quinten Gowdy finishing out the top 5 at 16th (18:28) and 19th (18:35). Joseph Choi and John Thompson were the final two Bulldogs in the varisty race and they came in 20th (18:37) and 21st (18:47), respectively.

The Batesville boys claimed the first six spots in the junior varsity race with senior Garrett Wagner being the overall winner with a commanding lead over his teammates by almost 30 seconds (18:39).

The next five Bulldogs came through with 30 seconds of each other with Charlie Laymon in 2nd, followed by Nathan Eckstein, Adam Hollowell, Kaleb McBeath and Luke Esser racing 3rd-6th. Nathan Villani was not far behind in 8th. Alex Livers was next for the Dogs in 12th with Landon Gutzwiller right on his tale in 13th. Next was Luke Nuhring racing through in 16th place with teammate Mason Green right behind him in 18th. Finishing out the Batesville line up placing 21st was Mason Enneking.
