Meet Recap

The Batesville Bulldogs ran to a first place finish in the annual Eastern Indiana Athletic Conference cross country meet held at Rushville.

The Bulldogs finished with a team score of 34 points, which was 16 better than East Central. Rushville was third with 99 followed by Connersville with 117.

The boys had five individuals make the All-Conference Team placing in the top 15 and they were second placing Adam Moster (17:24), Dillon Murray (5th at 17:58), Joshua Myers (7th at 18:00), Joseph Choi (8th at 18:02) and Christopher Laymon (12th at 18:22). Just outside of the top 15 were Quinten Gowdy (18th) and John Thompson (24th).

“The boys really hung tough and pushed through that heat determined to defend their crown from last year,” BHS coach Lisa Gausman commented. “I was so proud of their efforts, especially in the last mile.

“They really got mentally tough and continued to pass competitors all the way to the finish line. It proved to make a huge difference,” she added.
