Greenfield-Central High School
Batesville High School
The Bulldogs hosted Greenfield-Central in a junior varsity soccer match and it ended in a 1-1 tie.
The game started off fairly even, but Greenfield-Central managed to get the first goal of the game on one of their few shots on the day. Roughly 10 minutes into the game a long ball was played over our defense that the opponents were able to get onto. The opposition player managed to lob the ball over our on-rushing goalie, Cory Ralston, and into the net after a few bounces.
The game would go to halftime at 1-0 even though the Bulldogs managed four shots compared to the opponents three.
With just 7:28 remaining in the game, the Bulldogs found a breakthrough. Kent Meyers took a corner kick which Dominic Butz managed to get a head on just in front of the keeper. In the ensuing scramble James Kuisel showed great determination to win the ball and was able to put a header past the keeper and a group of defenders to tie the game up.
