Madison Cons. High School
Batesville High School
The Batesville boys JV soccer team defeated visiting Madison by a score of 5-0.
The game started fairly even as the Bulldogs came out a little slow. However, the Bulldogs quickly got into the game and established control as they out-shot Madison 11 to 1 in the first half. A breakthrough was finally made with just 11:16 left when Dominic Butz took a free kick from close to the halfway line and played the ball over Madison’s back line. James Kuisel was able to connect to the nice pass and placed a left footed shot beyond the opposing keeper to make the score 1-0.
Roughly a minute into the second half, Oscar Camarena received a ball around the mid line and found Kuisel with a nice through ball leading to a 1 on 1 with the keeper. Kuisel calmly slotted the ball into the back of the net to make it 2-0. Kuisel would then complete his hat-trick about 10 minutes later as he latched onto a cross from Joey Gutzwiller to bring the score to 3-0. The score would go to 4-0 about 3 minutes later as a ball was played over the top of the Madison defense and Miles Bowser was able to get to the ball first in order to shoot past the keeper at the near post. Bowser would then find the back of the net again with 16:38 left in the game. Calvin Sherwood sent in a nice cross from the left side of the box to Bowser who scored his second of the game.
