Game Recap

The Batesville Bulldogs traveled to Aurora on Friday to battle the South Dearborn Knights.

The rainy and soggy conditions made play difficult, but the Bulldogs came away with a 7-0 victory.

Quarterback Trey Heidlage scored on a 24-yard run at the 8:13 mark in the first quarter. Nate Slavin added the extra point and the Bulldogs took the lead.

The Knights racked up 27 more yards of total offense and had six more plays from scrimmage, but could not manage to find the end zone. Many of the South Dearborn yards came late in the game.

The Bulldogs did a good job keeping the ball on the ground. They finished with 155 yards rushing compared to 123 by the Knights.

Defensively, the Bulldogs were led by Josh Maple with 9.5 tackles, including four tackles for loss. Adam Bedel and Zach Jones were also productive on the defensive side with 7.5 and 7 tackles, respectively.
