Game Recap

The Lady Bulldog softball team was defeated tonight by the Rushville Lady Lions at Madison in the first game of the IHSAA Sectionals by the score of 10-1.

Batesville managed just six hits in 26 at bats, with a single strike out and one base on balls.
The dozen hard hit balls from the Lady Bulldogs were cleanly swept up by the Lion’s short stop, who earned 11 assists on the game for a perfect defensive performance.

Kara Obermeyer pitched seven innings for Batesville, giving up four earned runs, with two strike outs and zero base on balls.

Sarah Wilson led the team on defense with nine put outs, while senior Kylie Paul ended the night with four put outs and two assists. Kesley Huffner ended the game with three put outs and six assists.

Obermeyer and Ellie Waechter led the team at bat going 2 for 3 on the night – Waechter had two singles, while Obermeyer had a double and a single. Huffner and Wanninger each also had a hit in the game.
