Varsity Dance · BHS dance team competes at Lawrenceburg

The Batesville High School Dancers traveled to Lawrenceburg for a regional competition where they received two first place honors and two seconds.

The team placed first in Kick (high superior rating) and Open (ultimate star rating), while second place honors came in Hip Hop (high superior rating) and Pom (high superior rating). Franklin County won the five-team competition in Pom, while Roni’s Velocity beat out seven teams competing the Hip Hop category.

The team also received the High Point trophy in the Select division,which was presented for highest score overall among the four teams in the division.

Senior captain Anna Cassidy received an ultimate star for her salute, while judges’ award for best dancer of the day (out of 300 competitors) was presented to Batesville sophomore dancer Berto Davalos, according to coach Denette Callahan.
