Game Recap

The Batesville High School varsity football team improved to 3-0 on the season with a victory at home against the South Dearborn Knights.

The Bulldogs scored on a 2 yard run by Peyton Meyer in the first quarter to take the early lead. Christian Wolfe added the extra point to make it 7-0.

The Bulldogs added to their lead with three scores in the second quarter. Brett Williamson scored on a 14 yard carry later followed by a 16 yard pass play from Trey Heidlage to Jacob Speckman. The third touchdown of the second quarter came on a 21 yard pass from Heidlage to Christian Prickel.

The Bulldogs only other score of the game came in the third quarter. Jack Kellerman carried the ball 41 yards for the score.

Wolfe was a total of 4-of-5 on extra points for the game.

The Bulldogs racked up 439 yards of total offense against the Knights. Batesville carried the ball 53 times for 340 yards and threw it seven times for 99 yards. Prickel led the ground game with 16 carries and 84 yards, while Drew McLeod had five carries for 64 yards.

Defensively, the Bulldogs were led by Hunter Hon with two solo tackles and four assists. Kellerman, Ethan Hirt and Josh Maple were tied for second on the team.
