Batesville High School
Milan High School
The two teams had to wait an extra day because of bad weather on Friday night, but Batesville and Milan finally resumed their county rivalry in football. The visiting Batesville Bulldogs rallied to defeat Milan 19-14 on Saturday night.
The Bulldogs fell behind 8-0 at the end of the first quarter and later trailed 14-0 and halftime. Coach Evan Ulery’s crew did not give up and scored 19 unanswered points in the second half for the team’s second win of the season.
Christian Prickel scored the Bulldogs’ first touchdown on a 5-yard run at the 8:18 mark in the third quarter. Christian Wolfe added the extra point to cut the Milan lead to 14-7.
Brett Williamson scored just over eight minutes later on a 5-yard run to make it 14-13.
Batesville’s final score of the game came at the 5:42 mark in the fourth quarter. Prickel scored for the second time … this time on a 7-yard carry.
