The Batesville boy’s varsity tennis team defeated Rushville 5-0 on Tuesday to clinch the EIAC Championship for the third straight year. Batesville has now won 23 straight EIAC matches, according to coach Mike McKinney.
In singles, Beau Brown, Ben Schwettman, and Spencer Rose won their matches. The doubles teams of Harsh Patel/Will Harmeyer and Jonathan Kunkel/Sam Giesting were winners.
In junior varsity play, Batesville won by a score of 4-0. Winners were George Ritter, Lane Westerfeld, Mitch Esser, and Cooper Williams. The JV is now 10-0 on the season, while the varsity is 9-5.
