Game Recap

The Lady Bulldog junior varsity team was unstoppable in Seymour, , according to varsity coach Kyle Laker. They picked up their third win of the season with a 7-0 road victory.

Coach Katie Hartman complimented her team. “”he win is a tribute to a solid team effort with many players contributing on both ends of the ball,” she noted.

Offensively, five different players were able to score for the Lady Bulldogs. Freshmen Ashlyn Czerniak and Hailey Mohr combined to get around the defense and laid a pass to sophomore forward Kelsey Huffner for the goal.

The second goal of the game, came off a Seymour goal kick which freshman Caitlynn Werner collected and was able to take a shot from the corner of the 18 for the score.

Freshman Marigrace Anderson scored two before the half time whistle. The first came after a tough physical 50/50 win against the Seymour keeper. While the second goal came off an assist from Czerniak.

The Lady Bulldogs added three more goals in the second half. Huffner was able to score her second goal of the match off an assist from Anderson. Freshman, Avery Roell scored an unassisted goal with a deep long shot perfectly placed over the Lady Owl goalie.

Batesville’s final goal was scored by Czerniak after Roell sent a through ball and Czerniak was able to beat two Seymour defenders for the score.
