Girls Junior Varsity Softball, Girls Varsity Softball · East Central scores 12 in win over Lady Bulldogs

The Batesville Lady Bulldogs gave up five runs in the first inning against East Central and could not make up the deficit.

The BHS varsity softball team later fell behind 8-0 before scoring two times in the fifth inning. A RBI single by Whitney Axsom and a RBI double by Meg Liter sparked the Lady Bulldogs in the fifth.

The Lady Trojans scored three in the sixth to stretch the lead to 11-2 and later posted a 12-4 victory.

Liter doubled for a second time in the seventh inning. She finished with two hits and two RBI to lead the Lady Bulldogs at the plate. Katie Thomas also had a pair of hits, while Axsom, Hannah Putnam and Kylie Paul each had one.

Scoring runs for the Lady Bulldogs were Breanna Hartman, Madeline Cook, Thomas and Axsom.

BHS junior varsity falls 10-4

The Lady Bulldogs scored three times in the second inning to take a one run lead, but gave up six in the third to fall behind. Batesville scored just one more time in the bottom of the fifth inning.

Kelsey Huffner, Abby Nunlist and Kelsey Roell each had hits for the Lady Bulldogs. Scoring for BHS were Huffner, Nunlist, Molly Jones and Rebecca Eckstein.
