The Batesville Lady Bulldogs picked up a needed win in the Eastern Indiana Athletic Conference by knocking off South Dearborn at home by a score of 3-2.
The Lady Bulldogs scored broke a 2-2 tie with a single run in the seventh inning. Whitney Axsom singled to score Gabi Garcia for the game-winner.
Batesville jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the third inning. Madeline Cook scored in the first and later scored in the fifth to tie the score at 2-2.
Cook finished with three hits followed by Axsom with two. Garcia, Meg Liter and Kylie Paul also had hits in the game.
Liter pitched the Lady Bulldogs to victory. The BHS senior allowed six hits and struck out five.
BHS junior varsity falls 12-2
The junior varsity softball team score its only two runs in the third inning. Kelsey Huffner and McKenna Vierling each crossed the plate to cut the SD lead in half. The Lady Knights went on to score four runs in each of the next two innings to secure the victory.
Sarah Wilson, Huffner, Vierling and Rebecca Eckstein each had hits for the Lady Bulldogs.
