The Batesville High School tennis team improved to 2-0 in the Eastern Indiana Athletic Conference and 2-0 overall with a convincing 5-0 victory over the East Central Lady Trojans.
Senior Lydia Olsen set the tone with a 6-0 and 6-0 victory against Lizzy Weigel at No. 1 singles, while Macy Simon and Julia Hunter were easy winners over Lindsey Bischoff and Meredith Struewing at No. 2 doubles.
Brooke Bradford and Kelli Hartman defeated Gwen Kern and Morgan Webber at No. 1 doubles by the scores of 6-3 and 6-3. Erin Longstreth triumphed in two sets at No. 3 singles, while Karsen Worthington was stretched to three at No. 2.
The BHS junior varsity won seven of eight matches.
Alana Pinkley, Rachael Rose, and Audrey Weigel won in singles play, while the doubles teams of Gabby Cooper/Grace Heppner, Anna Kick/Jenna Harmeyer, Chandni Patel/Maggie Schwettman, and Jill Hartman/Baylee Rohlfing claimed victory as well.
